A MARYBOROUGH woman who allegedly stabbed a man in the chest with a kitchen knife has been denied bail - despite her alleged victim refusing to press any charges against her.

Nicole Renee Pratt, 23, was remanded in custody after fronting the Maryborough Magistrates Court on Monday on a string of offences including unlawful wounding and assaulting police.

The court heard she allegedly entered the Maryborough man's home at 4.20pm on Sunday and stabbed him close to the heart.

It was also alleged she assaulted a police officer in the watchhouse after being arrested.

Police prosecutor Michael Quirk told the court the alleged victim had so far refused to make a complaint - but police did not need one to proceed with a wounding charge and an objection to bail.

Defence lawyer Travis George disagreed, but accepted Pratt was in a "show-cause" position.

"Police have no version to put the court ... there are no witnesses other than the victim," he said.

The court heard Pratt had a "concerning" criminal history.

Magistrate John Smith refused bail and remanded her in custody to September 24.

"It appears ... you are a danger to the public," he said.

Several unrelated charges were adjourned to later this month.
