Recipe: Honey Soy Chicken sticks
HONEY Soy chicken is a favourite for all ages and it is very quick and easy to make and tastes delicious.
2 large chicken fillets (allow ½ fillet per person) cut into slices
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon Honey
2 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon of finely grated fresh ginger
2 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
Extra Chilli (optional)
1 Teaspoon sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl then add chicken and marinade for ½ or so in fridge.
Bamboo or metal skewers can be used. Don't forget to soak the bamboo skewers for an 1 hour or so before use to stop the skewers burning on the BBQ.
Thread chicken onto skewers (don't over pack) then cook on BBQ or in oven for 15- 20 minutes on 180c normal oven or 160c fan forced or until cooked. Basting every few minutes to keep chicken moist.
This recipe can also be used for chicken wings, thighs, a sauce for stir fry or oven baked chicken.
Sprinkle chicken with sesame seeds to serve.
