RECIPE: Barbecued Peaches
THESE peaches are a very simple and effective dessert that you can make and it takes only take a few minutes to cook.
- 1/8 cup of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoons hot water
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 ripe peaches, halved, pitted
- 1 - 2 teaspoons rice bran oil
- 1 tablespoon slithered almonds toasted
Make sure BBQ is clean and preheat barbecue on high.
In small bowl, mix sugar, hot water and cinnamon until sugar dissolves.
Brush cut sides of peach halves with oil. Barbecue the peaches, cut side down for approximately three minutes, or until char marks form.
Turn peaches over and brush with some brown sugar glaze, allowing some glaze to pool in pit indentation of peaches. Continue cooking for about three or four minutes, or until heated through.
Spoon ice cream into 2 bowls. Top with warm peaches and their juices. Drizzle with more sugar glaze and serve with a dollop of cream and slithered almonds.
