RECALL: Coles issues alert over beetroot dip

COLES Supermarkets is recalling their home-brand beetroot dip.

The supermarket giant has issued a recall notice for their Coles brand Beetroot Dip 200g sold in Coles and Bi-Lo supermarkets in Queensland, Coles supermarkets in northern New South Wales and Coles Online.

Packages with a best-before date of January 9, 2017 are affected.

Coles says the recall is due to the product being incorrectly packaged in Coles Spicy Capsicum Dip container. This container does not specify the presence of an allergen - sesame. Consumers with an intolerance or allergy to sesame could have an adverse reaction to the beetroot dip, Coles says.

Coles is advising customers to return the product to any Coles supermarket for a full refund, and any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.
