THE NAPLAN results have recently been released.

Year 7s are one of the grades that undertake the NAPLAN tests which focus on maths and literacy.

The Bulletin asked readers via Facebook: What subjects should Year 7 students be focused on in school?

Phil Twiner - Spelling, grammar, mathematics, science, physical fitness -- all explicitly explained for their maturity level. All other subjects should be acquired implicitly.
Sylvia M Allen - Make sure they can read write and spell and Maths without a calculator!
Gloria Carige - Ensuring they can read, write, maths, english and history
Ann Armstrong - English and maths.
Naomi Liersch - this is a no brainer: English, Math and lifeskills
Zara-Lee Goodson - subject on life that includes... filling out forms, renting, house cleaning / domestic chores, budgets, banking loans savings, first aid, fire fighting, driving/ road rules, time management, love and relationships, self decadence.. connecting the dots from school subjects to careers and adult life
Valarie Hawkins - manners and respect for other people
