RADIO legend John Laws is out of hospital after taking a fall at a Sydney restaurant.

The man with the golden tonsils and king of talkback was taken to Sydney's St Vincent's Hospital after taking a fall at the China Doll eatery in Woolloomooloo.

It is understood to be among his favourite restaurants.

Mr Laws was enjoying a meal when he leaned on a table, which flipped and sent him crashing to the floor, according to News Limited.

The restaurant's manager is understood to have helped the 80-year-old to his nearby unit.

He left hospital on Sunday morning, and was "a little unsteady but now at home".
