WATCH: Cute puppies join the ranks of Queensland Police.

QUEENSLAND - meet the latest recruits for this year's class of police dogs!

Queensland Police unveiled the cutest rookies to ever join the ranks after accepting nine puppies - dubbed the "P Litter" - to the force.

Eight-week-old puppies Punch, Pistol, Phate, Pammy, Pearl, Phoenix, Prada and Pepper were introduced in an Instagram video that will hardly strike fear into any potential criminal.

The "P Litter" - clearly full off energy to start their crime-fighting careers - will have to cool their paws for a little while longer as they fostered out to undergo vital socialisation training.

A Queensland Police spokesperson said the puppies' mum, Xena, was the first ever active working police dog to fall pregnant and give birth to a litter of pups.
