Property expert Andrew Winter to speak at Toowoomba Open Day

TOOWOOMBA'S over 50s community can learn the secrets to downsizing from Australia's leading residential property expert, Andrew Winter, at Living Gems Toowoomba's free Open Day on Saturday, May 25 from 10am.

TV personality, author and retirement property specialist Winter will share his insights and knowledge on how people can live their best life in retirement; including the positives to downsizing and what to expect when you move into a lifestyle resort.

Living Gems Toowoomba Sales Manager Shirley Ortez said once residents had made the decision to downsize and had moved in, 99 per cent said they wished they'd done it sooner.

"I think people find it quite cathartic simplifying their lives and moving into something new, fresh and easily maintained," Ms Ortez said.

"Not only does it give them financial freedom, it gives them freedom to do more with their time now that they are no longer a slave to their garden or the ongoing maintenance of a large family home.

"However, often the first hurdle is knowing where to start."

Winter will talk about the journey people take into retirement living, including selling the family home, the emotional impacts of downsizing and the financial freedom a lifestyle resort can provide - such as no deferred management fees, no stamp duty and for most owners, becoming mortgage free for the first time.

General Manager Vlad Pullich said Living Gems was thrilled to welcome Andrew to its Open Day as guest speaker.

"Andrew Winter is a respected name when it comes to property. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience on the financial implications and emotional impact that this significant decision can have on your life," Mr Pullich said.

We would encourage anyone who is considering a move to retirement living to come along and hear what he has to say."

In addition to Winter's presentation there will be numerous display homes open for viewing including the soon-to-be-released Signature Collection design.

There will also be tours of Living Gems Toowoomba's award-winning Country Club and its many recreational activities including the undercover bowling green, floodlit tennis court and heated swimming pool and spa.

The Open Day will be held on Saturday, May 25 from 10am-2pm at Living Gems Toowoomba, 500 South Street, Glenvale. Contact the resort on 1800841924 for further information.
