Probus clubs unite for 40th birthday celebrations

WARWICK Combined and Rose City Warwick Probus clubs have come together for a five-club celebration of Probus' 40th birthday.

The two Warwick clubs combined with Stanthorpe, Scenic Rim and Beaudesert, and Tenterfield, NSW.

The celebration was successful with 155 participants mixing well as each table included two Probians from each of the five clubs.

Darling Downs Mayor Tracy Dobie, who opened the proceedings, was one of the two VIPs, along with Judy Brockett, President Probus Association of Queensland.

Rose City Warwick's Colin Dobie and Combined Warwick's Dorothy Gartery shared master of ceremonies duties.

The Warwick Combined Choir entertained the crowd while Tenterfield Probian Geoff Newman gave the Sir Henry Parkes oration and Tenterfield Probian Jan Ross did the call to Federation.

Foundation members Rose City Warwick's Margaret McKinnon and Warwick Combined's Helen Ferrier cut the birthday cake.

The function finished with guests lingering to continue meeting members of the other clubs.
