Pioneer road name in Hervey Bay earns online tick

COUNCILLOR Trevor McDonald's plan to name the Urraween distributor after pioneering farmer Frederick Joseph Stirling has attracted plenty of support online.

After more than 150 votes in a poll put up on the Chronicle website on Thursday, the result so far shows 94% of participants support the proposition to name the new road Stirling Dr.

The road is still under construction.

Anyone who would still like to cast a vote in the poll has until 5pm on Friday.
