PETS these days are as much a part of the family as children. That's why Pet Angel's Pet's Day Out at Molendinar on the Gold Coast was such a success in March.

After all, pets deserve to have all that fun.

Attractions for our furry friends included dog trick training, an animal farm, face painting and a sausage sizzle.

There was a serious side to the day, a fundraiser to help adopt pets not as fortunate as others.

Pet Angel manager Renee Mathews said the annual Pet's Day Out was a way to thank the people of the Gold Coast for supporting a local family business.

"It is also a way to inform people that Pet Angel offers affordable funeral and cremation options when it's time to say goodbye to their furry friend," she said.

"The day was a huge success this year with an excellent turn-out of both families and furry friends.

"Pet Angel and all local stallholders received great exposure and Best Friends Rescue gained a lot of interest about the adoption of unwanted pets."

Pet Angel gives a pet the same care and attention in death as it's been used to in life.

"People are starting to understand the options that are available for their precious pets," Renee said.

"Individual pet cremations are increasing in number every week, with pet funerals being a dignified way for the whole family to say goodbye."

An individual cremation service is priced from $299, while a "complete funeral service" with all the extras can cost a pet owner $665.

And while humans can take advantage of funeral plans, so can pets.

"Pet Angel offers payment plans for individual cremation and funeral options starting from only $12 per week as a way to reduce the financial stress on pet owners during this difficult time," Renee said.

"Pet Angel is an independent, family-owned business which is passionate about customers' needs while offering grace and dignity to every pet that comes into our care."

Pet Angel's services cover the Gold Coast from as far south as Murwillumbah up to Logan and South Brisbane. They operate 24/7.
