EDDIE Perfect is getting paid to laugh, and he's loving it.
The actor and musician admits he had nerves after signing up for the new judging panel on Australia's Got Talent.
"I had no idea what to make of this job. I'd never done anything like this before," Perfect told APN.
"I didn't know what the environment or the other judges would be like but it's been so much fun and so funny. I just laugh my ass off for about 12 hours a day."
Tonight's return of the talent show features Perfect, Kelly Osbourne, Sophie Monk and Ian "Dicko" Dickson judge everything from singers and dancers to magicians and circus performers.
Perfect got his start as a stand-up comedian and musical theatre actor before landing a starring role in Channel 10's hit romantic comedy Offspring.
Judging a reality talent show is a new venture for the father-of-two, who admits he's not a fan of the genre.
"The reason why I haven't done anything like this before is I don't particularly like those vocational talent quest shows with all that 'you're going to be a star' bollocks," he said.
"My experience is you work very hard and that's how you get ahead. You don't just jump on the tellie for five minutes.
"What's great about this show is no one's got to be a star... it gives people a chance to tell their stories."
Australia's Got Talent airs tonight at 7.30pm on Channel 9/WIN.
