Your Story: Parish Family Mass
Everyone welcome…….
The first Parish Family Mass for 2016 will be held on Sunday 20th March at 5pm.
The mass will celebrate Palm Sunday.
The aim of our Parish Family Mass is to build a stronger faith community and that children can participate more fully in the mass.
Strong connections between our School and Parish families will also continue to develop.
Jan Condon, Assistant Principal and Leader of Catechesis said "Our Parish Family Masses were an initiative begun in 2015.
Because of their success, we have continued to plan for these masses this year.
Such opportunities allow our families to renew or further develop their faith.
The mass is child friendly, with songs chosen for the young, the homily is adapted for the children and active participation is encouraged in leading the prayers and children's choir.
After celebrating mass, the families socialise over a shared meal and the children get to play together.
Other parishioners are always welcome to join us.
Occasions like this build strong, positive relationships between school and parish. We worship and witness together.
This in turn creates a community happy to serve one another and to model Christ's love to all.
As members of St Brigid's Parish Primary School we continue to live out our school motto 'Strong in Faith'."
We warmly invite everyone to attend our Parish Family Masses.
At the Palm Sunday Mass, the children are welcome to process into the church at the start of mass, carrying palms which will be supplied.
Following mass there will be a BBQ in the Parish grounds and everyone is welcome.
Parish Family Masses are planned for once a month at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Summerland Way, Kyogle.
