Byron Bay to celebrate NSW Seniors Festival
BYRON Bay Shire will celebrate this year's NSW Seniors Festival at the Seniors Expo on March 7.
The theme for the 59th festival is Let's Do More Together.
Seniors will be inspired to try new things, socialise, share skills and keep doing the things they enjoy, together.
The shire will recognise its senior citizens through its Positive Ageing Awards to be handed out by Mayor Simon Richardson at a morning function to be filled with dancing, singing, comedy and ukulele playing by talented and active local seniors and delicious food served by members of the Country Women's Association.
Seniors across NSW are being encouraged to enjoy new experiences, continue learning, impart their skills, and have fun during the NSW Seniors Festival which runs from March 3 to 12.
The festival is the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere for people aged 60 and over.
It attracts up to 500,000 seniors across the state to festival events.
The Byron Bay expo will be held at the Mullumbimby Civic Hall from 9am to 12.30pm.
