AFTER more than 4314 votes were cast, the results of online polls show that people are unhappy with the performance of most of the councillors.

Some 55% of people scored the overall Fraser Coast Regional Council a five or less out of 10 when asked to rate its first year's performance.

Almost 30% gave the council the lowest score of one but, at the opposite end of the spectrum, 23% gave the council 10 out of 10.

More than 570 votes were cast in the poll which opened on Saturday, April 27, and closed on Friday, May 3.

Individually, most of the councillors discovered via the polls that voters were not satisfied with their performance with Division 3 councillor Chris Loft and Division 5 councillor Rolf Light sharing the dubious honour of having the worst result - a 78% dissatisfaction rating.

Amost 60% of people who voted are unhappy with Mayor Gerard O'Connell's performance in his first year and that poll attraced 385.

But three councillors managed to satisfy the majority of the people who gave their opinion in the poll with 62% of voters saying they were satisfied with Division 9 councillor Stuart Taylor's performance, 60% giving  Division 10 councillor George Seymour a pat on the back and 52% satisfied with Division 8 councillor Robert Garland's performance.

The poll on Cr Taylor attracted 454 votes - the highest of all the individual councillor polls.
