Nina on her Bachelor exit: 'I knew my chances weren't great'

NINA Rolleston knew her time was up on The Bachelor.

The 28-year-old was eliminated from the reality dating show tonight, narrowly missing out on introducing 35-year-old Sam Wood to her Sunshine Coast-based mum and North Queensland-based father and stepmother.

The Brisbane-based wedding planner, who was born in Bowen and grew up on the Sunshine Coast, told APN her elimination wasn't a surprise.

"I think we both knew it wasn't going to continue," she said.

"I genuinely wanted him to meet my family. At the rose ceremony I was still really hoping I would have that opportunity to take him home but I knew that my chances weren't great."

Rolleston didn't hide her disappointment at being overlooked for intruder Lana Jeavons-Fellows, who Wood had only known for a few weeks.

"At the time you definitely feel threatened," she said.

"But I've moved on from that. I don't hold any grudges against Lana. She's an amazing girl and we still talk now."

Rolleston ruffled more than a few feathers during her time on the reality dating show.

Her on-screen tiffs with fellow contestants Emily, Bec and intruder Rachel have spilled over into the media.

"I would do it all again tomorrow, I walked out with some of the most incredible girlfriends I'll have for the rest of my life," she said.

"I never expected to get along with absolutely everybody.

"(What Bec, Emily and Rachel have said about me) doesn't taint my experience. I think that reflects a bit more on them and their experience than it does on me.

"I do feel like I was portrayed correctly. I am a very direct person."

Rolleston revealed she kept a journal during her time on the show, but it's not something she plans to share any time soon.

"My mum wants to read it but I won't let her," she said.

"Maybe in a year's time I'll sit back and reminisce on what I was feeling at the time. I've kept little things. Heather made me something really artsy and I've got letters from the girls."

She tips single mum Snezana Markoski as the woman who will win The Bachelor's heart.

"I've always thought Sam and Snez has something pretty amazing, and I still to this day think that," she said.

"She let him know on their very first chat she's a single mum, so for her to get to this point he's done a lot of soul searching. He's a really smart guy. If he knew he couldn't do the potential step dad thing then he wouldn't have kept her away from (her daughter) Eve for that long."

Rolleston is still looking for Mr Right.

"I'm still single and looking forward to getting out there and dating and potentially meeting someone," she said.

"I definitely came into this with a complete open heart… it's not going to stop me that I've been sent home. This is the start of a new chapter for me now."

Wood will meet the families of the four remaining finalists - Lana, Snezana, Heather and Sarah - on the show tomorrow night.
