News brief - All Noosa residents welcome to explore creative side at 'Arts After Hours'

All interested people are welcome to explore their creative side during 'Arts after Hours' sessions hosted by CQUniversity Noosa campus.

Evening sessions to be held on the second Monday of each month include the 'Noosa Guitar Orchestra' led by Andrew Veivers, the 'Noosa Writing Circle' led by Professor Donna Brien, Denise Beckton and Dr Sue Davis, and the 'Visual Arts, Printmaking and More' group led by Ulrike Sturm.

"The sessions will all be led by experienced professional artists and academics who are also experienced teachers and workshop leaders," Dr Davis says.

Scheduled for 5.30pm-7pm, the cost is $15 ($12 concession) for each of the music and writing workshops and $25 for each of the art workshops.

The venue is at Level 1, Zone B of CQUniversity Noosa, 90 Goodchap Street in Noosaville.

VALUED MEMORABILIA: Daphne Heaton holding the plaque issued to Private Roberts' family following his death in 1918. The personalised plaque, often referred to as the "Dead Man's Penny", was issued to next-of-kin of all service personnel who were killed as a result of the war.
