NOOSA District State High School Year 12 students Rhiarn Harris, Ruby Tucker, Matthew Craigie, Talei Becker and Reagan Greentree will be shaving their hair on March 18 to show support and solidarity for those who often lose their hair in the fight against leukemia.

54,270 Australians were diagnosed with leukemia in 2015, and many NDSHS students and staff have personally witnessed the toll cancer has on those battling it and the sense of despair and helplessness experienced by close families and friends.

Year 12 student leader, Reagan Greentree will be shaving off his "greasy mop" of hair next Friday.

"Today 34 Australians will be given the devastating news that they have blood cancer, and they will turn to the Leukemia Foundation for help," Reagan said.

"Through a donation of just $28, I can provide one of these families with a cancer information pack to help a family prepare for the challenges ahead."

Reagan has a goal to reach $560 by next Friday.
