NDSHS students get a GRIP on leadership

Noosa District State High School Year 12 student leaders and Year 12 students interested in developing their capacity to make a difference within the school community, attended a GRIP leadership conference at the Maroochy RSL.

The students learnt a variety of skills through seminars, games, competitions and workshops including valuable strategies on how to motivate others to support projects and events within the school; public speaking techniques; how to develop a positive school environment that combats bullying; and they made new friends with students from a range of Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg, North Brisbane, Maryborough and Harvey Bay schools.

The conference was dynamic and interactive and allowed for the NDSHS students to work with their unique talents and attributes in a variety of ways.

"The leadership conference was very worthwhile and it has provided the Noosa High leaders with some interesting ideas to work with and try out back at school," NDSHS School Captain Matthew Craigie said.

"The information was presented in a fun and interactive way," NDSHS Student Council President Karree Lindenmayer said.
