National Seniors get into the spirt of Christmas

THE aim was to get together and have a lovely Christmas lunch and celebrate the year that had been, and the National Seniors Australia Toowoomba Branch certainly did that said president Neville Fry.

"Everyone seemed to have a good time and got into the spirit of things, wearing red and green clothes and different sorts of Christmas hats and reindeer antlers," he said.

Celebrations included Christmas carols by Timeless Duo members Patty Whitehouse and Alf Smith, an address on the meaning of Christmas from special guest Rev Frances Andrews from St Luke's parish before saying grace and a delicious Christmas lunch.

National Seniors zone chair Hazel Gillies also attended.

About 120 seniors enjoyed the event on December 6, with guests from the Garden City, Dalby and Warwick National Seniors branches travelling to celebrate.
