'Gift of sound': Deaf grandson inspires musician

FOR 'Music Man' Barry Bull there was no greater feeling than providing the gift of sound to his little grandson.

Mr Bull, who has had a 50-year career with music, began a mission to help those with hearing impairments after his little grandson Archie was born profoundly deaf.

The Coast man decided to combine his passion for words and music to create the 'Gift of Sound' concert in a bid to raise money for his grandson and others like him.

Money raised from the concerts goes towards Coast foundation Hear and Say, which has been helping little Archie to be able to hear.

Mr Bull said Archie had received cochlear implants and was learning to listen and speak just like his hearing peers.
