Most of 134 voters in online poll on smoking want public ban
THE majority of the 134 people who voted in the Chronicle's poll on smoking want taking a puff banned in public places.
The result of the poll, which closed at noon on Tuesday, showed 66% of voters supported a ban on smoking in public places.
The Fraser Coast Regional Council is considering smoking bans as part of a review of local laws later this year.
Mayor Gerard O'Connell said councillors had already discussed introducing new bans to stop smoking at taxi ranks, parks and bus stops.
