MKR delivers Seven a ratings win on big night of TV

CHANNEL 7 has come out guns blazing a week ahead of the official ratings period and the move is already paying off.

Viewers flocked to the loved and familiar format of My Kitchen Rules, which returned for a seventh season last night.

The reality cooking show was the top-rating show of the night, attracting 1.576 million viewers across the five metro cities.

The highly anticipated return of Steve Peacocke as Brax on Home and Away also did well for Seven, just cracking the 1 million viewership mark.

Shane Warne's highly publicised debut on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! came in as the seventh most-watched show of the night, attracting 927,000 metro viewers and 1.25 million viewers nationally (including regional).

Warnie and Brendan Fevola already appear to have a bromance going on the reality show, while former Bachelor contestant Laurina Fleure is already a divisive personality in the camp.

Neither of Nine's revivals made the Top 10 shows of the night. Australia's Got Talent made an underwhelming debut with 785,000 metro viewers while rural dating show The Farmer Wants A Wife attracted 763,000 viewers.

Farmer did attract a sizable regional audience though, which pushed its national ratings figure up to 1.129 million viewers.

The return of the ABC's current affairs shows Australian Story and Four Corners also rated well for the national broadcaster, ranking number 10 and 11 respectively.
