Michael Devaney Fundraiser
Noosa District State High School Junior School Deputy Principal Michael Devaney is taking on the battle of his life against an aggressive stomach cancer.
A Devaney family friend, Fiona Millington has organised a community event to raise funds to assist the Devaney family and their ongoing expenses for Michael's treatment against cancer.
Ms Millington and her family are using their acreage property to host local bands and kids' entertainment.
Ms Millington has acres of parking, port-a-loos organised, a pig on a spit, sausage sizzle and 3 artists/ bands are lined up for 7 hours of live music.
NDSHS staff and students and the Sunshine Coast community are encouraged to show some support for Michael Devaney and his family.
Mr Devaney is uncomfortable about the fuss that this has generated, but deeply appreciates what Ms Millington is doing for him and his family.
Mr Devaney will start his next round of chemotherapy on Monday, whilst he undergoes a 'super' drug too.
He is hopeful for some positive results from this different treatment.
The Devaney family have asked for privacy during this difficult time, but are grateful for the NDSHS and local community support.
