IVF geneticist pleads not guilty to child sex trafficking

MELBOURNE IVF geneticist Michael John Quinn has pleaded not guilty in a Los Angeles court to child sex trafficking and travelling with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.

Mr Quinn was arrested at an LA hotel on May 21 in a sting operation after allegedly telling an undercover Homeland Security agent online that he was interested in having sex with young boys.

The arrest happened after Mr Quinn allegedly handed over about $350 to have sex with a six-year-old boy.

The 33-year-old goes to trial in August and if found guilty he may be sentenced to life in jail with no parole.
