Meet 'Aragog', the Sunshine Coast's monster spider
A MASSIVE spider is on the loose on the Sunshine Coast - and he's angry.
Mount Coolum resident Lauren Ansell had the shock of her life when she came across the gigantic arachnid at her home on Sunday night.
Ms Ansell told the Daily that the spider looked as big as a grown man's hand.
"We live at Mount Coolum, pretty much underneath the big rock," she said.
"(The spider) was preventing us from using our BBQ.
"We made it unhappy as we tried to move it so we could cook.

"My boyfriend tried to squish it in the door but the spider was smart.
"The door only claimed two of its legs and it dropped and ran into the garden."
Ms Ansell nicknamed the spider Aragog, named for the giant spiders from the Harry Potter series.
"We nicknamed the spider 'Aragog' from Harry Potter, and feel the spider has run into the forbidden forest," she said.
Ms Ansell shared a photo of the beast online. Friends shared memes, expressed their horror, suggested she move house, or invest in a flamethrower.
