Meandering, directionless mess.
He certainly isn’t governing.
I had really high hopes for better Government when he took over from Tony Abbott. Abbott was taking the Country backwards quickly and I expected Turnbull to at least steady the ship. I definitely thought he couldn’t possibly do any worse. Now, I’m not so sure.
The PM and Treasurer do not appear to be communicating at all, let alone effectively.
There is no obvious plan, direction or cohesion within this Government. Weekly thought bubbles are floated or leaked to get some idea of community feedback. None seem to have gained any traction and they are quickly forgotten as the next one appears.
GST, pushing income tax to the States, cuts to health and education spending, a double dissolution, company tax and Medicare changes are some of the subjects that have popped up over recent months without any substance, detail or decision being made in relation to each before we forget them and move on to the next empty thought bubble.
The vacuum that is created by the Government's lack of agenda is filled with the extreme ranting of the Government’s disruptive and divisive right wing.
The poor politics of the current Government cannot be blamed on the current Senate. The Senate, particularly the cross benchers, have every right to put their State’s interests first. If the Government was serious about their agenda they would negotiate. They have not been very successful in negotiating anything at all.
The Abbott Government was a blight on Australia’s history, however the Turnbull Government is a meandering, directionless mess.
I believe it is too late for Turnbull. He had an enormous amount of goodwill when he took over from the worst Prime Minister this country has ever seen, but he has shown nothing. He hasn’t improved the Government, he hasn’t got a positive agenda and the goodwill has gone.
The Coalition do not deserve a second term.
Nope, nope, nope.
