THE Mary Grigor Centre, funded by the council's Heritage Levy and officially opened on June 3, is named after renowned local woman Mary Grigor.

She lived in Bankfoot House in the 1800s.

The centre provides archival storage for the paper and textile collections from the house, work space for the Friends of Bankfoot House and visitor and interpretive space for the general community.

The centre is in the Bankfoot House Heritage Precinct.
