Cop helps stranded bride from flood waters

Hell or high water: Rising floods test vows of newlyweds

TAKE care when claiming you'll commit to something 'come hell or high water'! You might just literally be put to the test.

That seemed to be the case for a newly married couple who needed rescuing when their wedding party became surrounded by flood waters in the US.

Connor Reilly and Sabrina Torens had only just exchanged vows when their car became submerged in rising waters in New Jersey.

In footage of the incident, local police were quick to respond to the SOS, driving their more high-water equipped car into the danger zone and plucking the bride and groom through their car's sunroof.

And thanks to the great work of the police, the bride was able to keep her dress and shoes high and dry during the ordeal.

"We definitely get people stuck often, but it was her wedding day, so it was a dynamic situation," Bogota police Sgt. Geoffrey Cole told northjersey.com. "Nobody was worse for the wear, besides the vehicle."
