Grandfather sings about missing granddaughter

WATCH: Ukulele-playing grandfather misses granddaughter

WHY tell someone you love and miss them when you can sing it to them while playing the ukulele?

That was the question pondered by a ukulele-playing grandfather who wrote and performed a heartfelt song about how much he misses his granddaughter in the US.

In the video message sent to his granddaughter, Franchesca Hutton, the man, who just learnt how to play the ukulele, strums along as he coos some sweet lyrics.

"Franchesca, Franchesca our sweet, a phone call would be a great treat, Franchesca we hope you are fine, seems like such a long time!"

A clearly moved Franchesca put the video on Twitter and said it proved that you should never take your loved-one for granted.

"Never forget to tell the ppl (sic) around you that you love and appreciate them while they're around," she captioned the video.
