Lucky Lotto winners declare "the world is our oyster"

AN EARLY retirement, business-class trips all over the world, and a new home are now part of the grand plans for a Terrigal couple who just discovered they're multi-millionaires.

The New South Wales couple held one of the two division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto draw 3935, drawn on Saturday, April 6. Each entry won a division one prize of $2,099,625.55.

Sharing their excitement with a NSW Lotteries official this morning, the over-the-moon couple recalled how they discovered their life-changing win.

"Thank you very, very much!" the wife cried.

"Last night I looked at the winning numbers online, that's when I realised we'd won!

"I'd never checked the results online before in my life and I'm not sure why I did last night."

Then she saw they had six winning numbers and thought 'that can't be right'.

"All I could think was 'what am I going to do with it all?'," she said.

"It's safe to say we didn't sleep very well last night at all! We feel so shocked!"

The woman revealed the couple are both semi-retired, but this win meant they'd give up work instantly.

"This comes as a beautiful bonus for the rest of our life!" she said.

"We will definitely travel and we will definitely be going business class. "I'd love to go back to London. The world is our oyster now!"

She said she had been playing Lotto for about 30 years and had lots of little wins along the way.

"But this, we're absolutely over the moon," she said.

The winners, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning entry at Nextra Erina Market in Terrigal Drive, Erina.

Nextra Erina Market manager Katy McHugh said she was thrilled for her regular customers.

"This is the first time we've sold a division one winning entry so we really couldn't be more excited!" she said.

There are more chances to win big this week with tomorrow night's Oz Lotto offering $5 million, while Thursday's Powerball has $8 million up for grabs.
