Lodge supports Toowoomba Hospice with a donation

YOUR STORY: Toowoomba Hospice has benefited with a donation from the Darling Downs District Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows.

In presenting the cheque, Lodge District Master Brother Bradley Newton thanked the Hospice and supporters. 

"I would like to take this opportunity, not only to thanked the Hospice for the wonderful care it provides to the terminally ill, but also thanks must also go to all those who have helped me raise $1,200.10 for the Hospice."

The Oddfellows Lodge has operated for more than 200 years in England and for 175 years in Australia.

Fellowship between members throughout Australia, New Zealand and England is fostered with members taught how to conduct meetings and tutored in public speaking.

Toowoomba Hospice Promotions and Fundraising Manager Mark Munro said he was delighted to have community based clubs raise money for the Hospice.

"We are extremely lucky to have clubs, community groups/organisations and lodges like the Darling Downs District Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows to support us so we can continue to provide quality care in partnership with the community for those with a terminal illness."

The Toowoomba Hospice provides palliative and respite care based on mutual respect, trust and individual needs and is located at 57B O'Quinn Street, Harristown.
