Lions strengthen SES with donation of storm trailer

RESIDENTS of Gold Coast's Northern Coastal suburbs, who may be in need of assistance during any future natural disasters, will benefit from the Runaway Bay State Emergency Service gaining an emergency response trailer courtesy of Runaway Bay Lions Club and the Australian Lions Foundation.

The emergency response trailer, valued at $10,800, features specialised equipment storage compartments, a dedicated chainsaw fuel compartment, workbench with vice to sharpen chainsaws, LED spotlights, orange beacons and more.

Runaway Bay SES is now better equipped to respond to the community at times of urgent need.

The Runaway Bay Lions raised the necessary funds from donations by wrapping Christmas gifts at Runaway Bay Shopping Village, and its efforts were augmented by a generous $5000 grant from the Australian Lions Foundation.

Runaway Bay Lions Club acknowledges the magnificent support it received from the management, traders and shopping public at Runaway Bay Shopping Village who continue to provide generous support to our Lions projects.
