Lifetime of connecting the community honoured
LIFETIME Connect in Macksville is riding a wave of success, after four of the organisation's volunteers were honoured in the recent Nambucca Shire Council Australia Day Awards.
Shirley Fraser, Barbara Lake, John Richardson and Laure Cook were all honoured during the official presentation ceremony on January 25, receiving awards for Services to the Community by an Individual.
Lifetime Connect also received an award for Services to the Community by an Organisation during the same awards ceremony.
Lifetime Connect offers home support services and Home Care Packages for residents across the Coffs region.
Office manager Alana Sills said: "Volunteers are essential to all community service organisations.
"The Meals on Wheels service is part of the organisation Lifetime Connect, which delivers meals across the Nambucca Valley to over 100 clients.
"This service, that delivers fresh cooked meals daily around the Nambucca Valley LGA, would not be possible if it wasn't for our volunteers but a special mention goes to these four.
"Congratulations Laure Cook, Shirley Fraser, John Richardson and a special mention to Barbara Lake who has been involved in meal delivery services for over 44 years."
Ms Sills added: "Congratulations as well to Stuart Holmes, coordinator of the Nambucca Valley Community Men's Shed, which is a place for men to come together, to capture and share their skills and experiences."
Mr Holmes received an award for Services to the Community by an Individual.
