Life of Labor legend Emma Miller celebrated

PROMINENT state and national labour movement figures including Senator Claire Moore, Australian Council of Trade Unions president Ged Kearney and Queensland Council of Unions General secretary Ros McLennan paid tribute to Labor legend Emma Miller. 

Emma Miller was known as a pioneer of the trade union movement and the Labor Party in Queensland and was honoured at a dinner in Picnic Point on Friday night. 

Electrical Trades Union state organiser Dan McGaw said more than 130 people attended the dinner to celebrate her life and the wins and successes of women and the role they played in politics. 

A commemorative breakfast was also held in Queens Park this morning.
