LETTER: Remember when
ALTHOUGH I understand Geoff Cass's comments, he needs to be reminded that during the Rudd/Gillard era the market crashed and many lost their superannuation amounts by heaps.
I personally lost over $20,000 and between requesting the pay-out lost another $1300.
When my then husband got his pay out some five years ago he received $45,000.
Can pensioners live on that? No way.
We lost what we thought would help us into seniority.
The then Labor government gave out to those I'm sure we all remember two amounts of $600 to help boost the economy.
My then husband received both of those grants and I received nothing because I wasn't on Centrelink benefits because I wasn't registered because I believed the money goes to those in need.
The Rudd/Gillard government was looking to boost the economy because they knew well and truly that those that retired were to become victims of the economy.
Think back before you speak.
