Largest cat in NYC weighs 12.7 kilograms
AS A youngster everyone wished to have their very own lion cub or tiger cub…or was that just me?
Don't get me wrong, cats are very cute but there's something about the thought of a huge cat-like creature roaming about my home that makes me excited, and when I was younger I wanted my very own giant cat.
Well now there are breeds of cats that can satisfy this large-cat-obsession of mine!
At 12.7kg, Samson the cat who lives in New York City is the size of a two-month-old tiger cub.
This four-year-old Maine Coon measure an incredible 1.2 metres in length and comes very close to claiming the Guinness World Record of "Largest Cat," after the 2013 passing of big cat Stewie who came in at 1.34 metres.
Samson's owner, Jonathan Zurbal said in an interview with MyModernMet that his furry friend is not overweight for fat, just healthfully study.
Maine Coons are the largest breed of felines and Mr Zurbel wheels his lion-sized furball in a pet stroller around his Williamsburg, Brooklyn neighbourhood.
"He plays an excellent game of fetch, and he follows me from room to room and lays nearby, much like a dog," Mr Zurbel told the New York Post.
Somson's been receiving lots of love on the internet after his owner created an Instagram account soley for his cat, which has over 22,000 followers.
