Central Coast seniors invited to Expo
KINCUMBER Uniting Church is hosting a Senior's Expo with a focus on providing information on subjects relating to finances, dementia, where to live and more.
We also have stall holders able to answer a range of questions on different subjects. To name a few:
Australian Unity (Homecare Australia Services), Brentwood Village, Coastal Mobility, Dept. Of Human Services (not paying as no budget) Ann Lines and Living Choice.
It is proposed that this will become a regular event on our calendar and we welcome enquiries, ideas and encourage anyone interested to attend.
We will be providing light refreshments so that you can browse at leisure, listen to a speaker, visit the Op Shop and Men's shed.
We also have a great parking and access for people on site as well as a bus stop on Avoca Drive.
We live in an area where there are many retirement villages and van parks. From our research, a need for information to assist people is evident as they head towards retirement. Even when people retire the goal posts keep changing so keeping up to date is essential for people as they seek to live on their fixed incomes.
Joining groups can be a way of not only filling our time but forging new relationships that enable people to have a fulfilling life. The church and the community have opportunities for people to share, to laugh to live life fully.
It is our hope as a community to continue to provide a space for our local community to share. We appreciate also the community of our local schools, neighbourhood centre, other churches, health services, local homes and library. Together we are the community and as we come to know each other better barriers are broken down, new relationships forged and we create a safer space for all.
Mother Teresa said: "I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot, together we can do great things".
