It’s good fun to help out

LIBERTY Community Connect is an award-winning, not-for-profit, community-based organisation that provides many wonderful programs to support people on the Gold Coast who have a disability, or are elderly, together with their carers and families.

Liberty, formerly Nerang Community Respite Care, has a portfolio of fantastic social groups, leisure and lifestyle programs and in-home support services.

Community development officer Anita Ryan said Liberty was about being inclusive with the community, socialising and having fun.

"We have such an enthusiastic and experienced team of staff and volunteers. We really are unique to service provision, with a focus on low-care needs and connecting people on the Gold Coast," she said.

"We have been providing support for more than 25 years and we now provide close to 20 flexible programs to over 700 people and employ a passionate and dedicated team of 40 staff and 40 volunteers."

Clients go out on the Liberty bus to enjoy picnics, go to local parks and on beach trips, scenic drives, shopping, events, clubs and restaurants.

Volunteers, always welcome to apply, help out in the garden, go out with the clients, and assist the programs to run smoothly.
