A FAR North Queensland restaurant has extended a ban of children at dinner to all services throughout the day.

Do you think there should be child-free restaurants (just as there are child-friendly restaurants)?

Ros Lacey McClintock - There is a time and place for children and some restaurants are neither. If I was going out for dinner and were going to spend a lot of money on good food I wouldn't want to listen or see toddlers or young children throwing a tantrum, crying, yelling or running around.

Keith Kelley - i would say even some parents may want to go out to dinner to a quiet scene away from their kids, just for a 'time out.' How could they do that when everyone else's kids are there maybe running riot.(?) Makes no sense.

Sonia Donaldson - No, I just think there needs to be more considerate people! If your child is creating a disturbance then it's up to you to sort it out so other people are not having their dining experience ruined. Same goes for the theatre, movies or concerts! People can create disturbances at any age - two weeks ago we could not even get in the door of a bar because two adult males were fighting! I think I would rather a toddler tbh!

Terry Grant - Absolutely. When I go out to a restaurant I don't want to listen to a little snot bag cracking a tantrum. I left my snot bags with their grandmother or Aunty. If I wanted to listen to children throw tantrums I'll stay at home and get it for free instead of spending $150 at a restaurant
