Inspiration speaker to share story at La Bonne Vie lunch
FRIDAY, March 3 will be a day of celebration when BreastScreen Queensland Toowoomba and the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation present the La Bonne Vie lunch in aid of breast cancer support.
Health promotion officer Nicola Garrett said the event which is being held in the beautiful surrounds of Gips Restaurant is a great opportunity to enjoy lovely French champagne and cuisine with great company in aid of breast cancer support.
"It's the third time we have presented the La Bonne Vie luncheon and each year it has been wonderfully supported, so we cannot wait to celebrate with new and past attendees on March 3," Ms Garrett said.
"It's only two weeks this Friday until the event, so we are encouraging people to get their tickets fast."
Ms Garrett said that this year the La Bonne Vie luncheon guest speaker would be inspirational author and breast cancer survivor Pamela Schramm.
"Pamela wrote an incredible children's book called My Strong Mummy that helps explain cancer treatment to children," Ms Garrett said.
Along with talking about her book, Pamela Schramm said she hoped to share some of the positives she found in the wake of her own breast cancer battle.
"I feel it's important to talk about how you really can turn such a negative and horrible diagnosis into a positive situation," she said.
"I'm sure most cancer patients would see the world in an entirely new way after any sort of cancer treatment and I hope sharing my cancer journey will help someone."
The La Bonne Vie late luncheon will be held from 12pm to 4pm, Friday, March 3 at Gips Restaurant, Toowoomba.
Tickets are $110 and include lunch, champagne and other basic beverages, goody bags and
All proceeds go to the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation to assist with breast cancer support.
