Keep your chin up: helping homeless on the Sunshine Coast
I WAS taking my dog for a walk this morning at Coolum.
As I walked toward the beach, I noticed a man sitting at a table.
He was rolling what appeared to be cigarette butts left by others.
The poor bugger who would be lucky to be in his 30s and he looked damp and hungry.
It really made me think.
Yeah I'm not the richest person around, in fact I haven't worked since March myself.
And I thought i was doing it tough.
But yet this poor man sits here with all his possessions in a white hessian sack.
We are first world country but have third world problems. The rich get richer, the poor just die...
The man was so humble in taking the tobacco, the groceries.
I went and filled up in a bag from home, and large McFeast meal. He said he didn't know how to thank me.
I said seeing you smile mate is thanks enough.....
No matter how hard and how tough things are, you can bet that there is someone out there doing it tougher.
Cheers Jake Enjoy your food mate.
