'Exceptional': Aged care workers honoured at awards

AUSTRALIA'S most dedicated aged care workers and organisations have been brought into the spotlight, after 12 finalists were announced at the HESTA Aged Care awards this week.

The annual awards recognises aged care professionals who have made an "exceptional contribution to improving the quality of life for older Australians."

Chief executive Debby Blakey said this year's finalists had demonstrated an outstanding level of leadership and commitment in homes, retirement villages and aged care facilities across Australia.

"This year's finalists have proven themselves leaders in improving the way aged care services are delivered by challenging conventional thinking and developing innovative solutions to industry-wide challenges," Blakey said.

"It's an honour to highlight the amazing work of these teams, organisations and individuals, whose unwavering commitment ensures the highest standard of care is provided to Australians."
