Hervey Bay's inaugural MS Swimathon a success
THE Multiple Sclerosis group meet on the first Friday of each month on the Deck at the Hervey Bay RSL at 10am for a coffee and a chat.
The most newsworthy event for the Multiple Sclerosis group has been the inaugural Swimathon here in Hervey Bay and consisted of five teams with 60 competitors swimming for a 12-hour period and raised $10,500 from sponsorship.
One team, the Little Darlings, swam in honour of the father of one of the competitors who passed away last year.
Another team, the Chunky Dunks swam to support their Year 5 teacher who has MS.
All funds raised will be used locally.
