OUR members enjoyed a great night for our Christmas function, with entertainment being 'Hollywood Comes to Burleigh Waters' depicting nine famous stars and at our meeting Dr Elizabeth Hawkins told us about the work that Dolphin Research Australia do. Retired or semi-retired men are invited to join us at club meetings, 10am, on the third Monday of each month at Burleigh Waters Community Centre, 131 Christine Ave, Burleigh Waters. WE MEET at the Paradise Point Bowls Club on the third Monday of each month at 10am. Next meeting is on January 21. A guest speaker and morning tea is enjoyed with friends. AUSTRALIAN RED CROSS ROBINA

THE inaugural meeting of Robina Red Cross Branch took place at the Community Centre, Ron Penhaligon Way on November 23, 1993. Current members of the branch will celebrate 25years of service, fundraising and friendship on Wednesday, February 27 at lunch at Palmer Colonial, 57 Paradise Springs Ave, Robina. President Toula Singer OAM invites past members, and past and present supporters of the branch to attend and remember events and functions held over the years. OUR club meets on the third Wednesday of each month for a delicious luncheon at the picturesque Southport Yacht Club, Macarthur Parade, Main Beach overlooking the Broadwater at 11.30am for noon. Each month there are interesting guest speakers or entertainers. This is a great way to meet and make new friends. MEMBERS from the Able Australia Transport Southport group enjoyed an outing to Victoria Barracks in Brisbane recently, where a delicious silver service Devonshire Tea was served to all. We arrange Transport Group outings for seniors and NDIS recipients in the community. Participants pay for their (regular) subsidised outings to various social/medical venues. Able Australia provide a valuable community service for people who find it difficult to get around/or for medical appointments. Will pick-up/return to homes. Good drivers and assistants to help. COOLANGATTA BOWLS CLUB

SPECIAL thanks to the hard working 2018 Committee and to all the ladies for the many voluntary tasks. We are known as the 'friendliest little club on the Coast'. We certainly shared lots of friendship and laughter during our Christmas break up day. on Wednesday, December 12 with a great turn up. Bowling to 10 Spiders was first up, if you were lucky to get a toucher, the reward was a nip of Bailey's. Our Providore Debbie and her girls produced a scrumptious lunch. Raffle prizes were won - thanks to our Club for donating much sought after ham for one of the prizes. Tongue in cheek "Awards” were presented by Lady President Pam. Best dressed award went to Bev. Thanks for making memories ladies. It was fun. each and everyone of you take on. Merry Christmas, be safe with your loved ones and see you back on the greens in 2019.
