Palm Beach Qld Combined

IN KEEPING abreast with the times, on April 12, members made the historic step of becoming a "mixed club" in which women as well as men are welcome to become members. It is a big change as the club had always been a "men's club" since inauguration on January 12, 1984. Previously there were the quarterly "ladies days" in which wives and partners attended meetings and also participated in social activities but took no part in running the club. To celebrate the change, the club took an outing by bus to The Fox And The Hounds, Wongawallan.

Meetings are at the Currumbin RSL at 9.30am on the second Thursday of each month. Activities, guest speakers and bus trips. Phone Tom on 0438 532 245 or Jim (07) 5534 7801.

They are members who have been happy to provide 'Service above Self'. The club holds its meetings on the third Monday of each month at the Paradise Point Bowls Club starting at 10am. A guest speaker is invited to each meeting and morning tea. A lunchtime get together is held on the fourth Tuesday each month at the same venue, meeting pre-lunch at 11.30am. New members welcome.
