Great movies, comfortable chair, and seniors discounts too!

ENTERTAINMENT group Hoyts has rolled out the red carpet for senior movie lovers with a host of discounts available through its new membership cards and the installation of much loved power recliners in all of its cinemas.

The Hoyts Group president and CEO Damian Keogh said the seats were a hit with everyone.

"The powered recliner seats boast spacious leg room, wider seating and extra comfort, providing a more comfortable experience for all Hoyts guests, including seniors, and a more relaxed setting where everyone can watch the latest blockbusters,” Damian said.

While there is no denying the increasing popularity of streaming and on-demand services with television and movie lovers, Damian said the group had found its guests were coming along to the movies "precisely because it gets them off the couch - it's an exciting, immersive experience that staying at home will never live up to.”

In a bid to reward the loyalty of its movie loving customer Hoyts has recently revamped its Hoyts Rewards program, creating tiered levels of membership to suit the needs of different customers, including the over 60s.

"Our new Hoyts Rewards program has been designed with the customer in mind and each tier offers the core benefits including exclusive access to Saver and Super Saver tickets, 10% off food and drinks, free popcorn refills and the ability to earn Hoyts Points on all ticket purchases,” Damian said.

"Additionally, members aged 60 years plus can take advantage of $8 movie tickets before 5pm every day, $4 Choc Tops, $6 Choc Top and water combos and $8 tickets to exclusive Morning Tea Screenings.

"For members wanting more out of their movie going experience, our HOYTS Rewards Plus and Premium tiers offer double and triple HOYTS Points for all ticket purchases, which can be redeemed for discounted movie tickets and on food and drink items.”

The rewards program can also be linked to Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts.

As to what's on in the coming months that might suit our Seniors readers, Damian said they were excited about Downton Abbey, which is the next chapter of the TV series we've all come to know and love.

"Other movies perfect for this audience include Palm Beach (Now Showing), as well as Ride Like a Girl, Blinded by the Light, Ford vs Ferrari and more still to come.”

"Alternatively, there are many options which will be the ultimate go-to for those days when they're looking after the grandkids! All-age movies, including Angry Birds 2, Paw Patrol: Ready Race, and Frozen 2, star in our release schedule for the remainder of the year.”
