Grandmother's killer being hunted by police after 'murder'

A MANHUNT is under way for the killer of a 67-year-old woman who was found dead in her home in Sydney's west yesterday.

The woman's body was found inside her Penrith home just before 11am on Wednesday, with police currently treating her death as a murder although they have not disclosed how she died.

A crime scene has been established at the Penrith home and forensic crews have been working through the night.

It was concerned neighbours and friends who first raised the alarm to authorities after having not seen the woman for days and missing a game of bingo that she usually attends.

Police discovered the woman's car, a 2009 red Subaru Impreza with registration BHX 20A, in a carpark and forensics are currently examining it.

They are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
