Nicole’s shout out to Keith leaves people in tears
NICOLE Kidman used her Golden Globes acceptance speech to profess her extreme love for Keith Husband.
The Aussie star won the first award of the night for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series for her role in Big Little Lies.
After a slightly awkward kiss from Urban, Kidman hit the stage to deliver her emotional speech.
Kidman started by thanking her co-stars in the hit show, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Zoe Kravitz.
"We sat at a table, we pledged allegiance to each other and commitment to each other and this is ours to share," she said. "Wow, the power of women."
With the treatment of women in Hollywood a major talking point at this year's awards, Kidman went on to thank her mum for fighting for women's rights.
"My mamma was an advocate for the women's movement when I was growing up and because of her, I'm standing here," she said.
"My achievements are her achievements. Antonia Kidman, my sister, and I say thank you Janelle Kidman for what you fought for so hard.
"This character that I played [in Big Little Lies] represents something that is the centre of our conversation right now, abuse," Kidman continued.
"I do believe and I hope we can elicit change through the stories we tell and the way we tell them. Let's keep the conversation alive."
And finally, Kidman turned her attention to her husband of more than 10 years, Keith Urban.
"Keith Urban, when my cheek is against yours, everything melts away and that is love," she said. "It's true. I love you so much."
Kidman's emotional speech was a hit with viewers who were touched by her heartfelt words.
