Golden Globes 2019: this year's winners and losers
IT'S the first show of Hollywood's award season and the Golden Globes have just wrapped up in Los Angeles.
While Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper were among the hot favourites to win, the A Star is Born stars missed out on their major category nods for Best Actor and Actress in a Motion Picture Drama.
Those honours, instead, went to Rami Malek for his dazzling portrayal of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody and Glenn Close for her role in The Wife.
Almost everyone thought Gaga would win for her debut movie.
In a rousing speech, Close paid tribute to the other nominees in the category including Gaga, Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy and Rosamund Pike.
"Everything you did this year... we should all be up here together," she said.

Bohemian Rhapsody also took out Best Motion Picture Drama, while Green Book was awarded Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.
Killing Eve star Sandra Oh and Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Andy Samberg hosted the 76th annual event, which recognises achievement in both TV and film.
After stealing the show on the red carpet with her dramatic blue gown, Lady Gaga did pick up an award for Best Original Song for her contribution to A Star is Born's Shallow.

Gaga was in tears as she accepted the award with Mark Ronson who took the opportunity to praise the film's director and co-star, Bradley Cooper.
"You took a heartfelt honest tune and you gave it emotional resonance that we could've only dreamt of," Ronson said. "Seriously, the way you weaved the lyrics into the film and the narrative of your beautiful heartbreaking film is why we're standing up here tonight."
In the film categories, Christian Bale thanked Satan for inspiring his performance as former US Vice President Dick Cheney in Vice and Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse was named Best Motion Picture - Animated.
Jeff Bridges was this year's recipient of the Cecil B. deMille Award and gave a rambling speech in which he spoke about the children's game Tag and boat rudders, yes, boat rudders.
It's fair to say viewers were rather confused.
